Jeonju National University of Education (President Park Byeong-chun) held the '2025 Jeonbuk-style Nulbom School Instructor Training System Establishment and Operation Project' 1st Year Achievement Sharing Workshop on the 9th at the Mind Research Hall on the 1st floor of the Teacher Education Center at Jeonju National University of Education. The event was attended by about 120 people, including officials from collaborating organizations (Jeonju National University of Education's Jeonju-affiliated elementary school, Gunsan-affiliated elementary school, Jeonju Cultural Foundation), Nulbom School instructors, elementary education field experts, prospective teachers, and activists.

The workshop was organized to share the results and achievements of the 1st year of the project and discuss future expansion directions. The event proceeded with a report on the project results, followed by workshops for each program (Hanbok Playground, Traditional Playground, Vegetable Garden Playground, Robot Playground), and a comprehensive discussion.

Professor Choi Gyeong-eun, in charge of the project (Department of Practical Arts Education), emphasized, "In Jeonbuk, where the school-age population is rapidly decreasing, there is a high proportion of small schools, and the region heavily relies on Nulbom Schools and public care systems due to a high percentage of economically vulnerable families, multicultural households, and dual-income families," adding, "Various Nulbom programs tailored to the regional characteristics and demands are required."

Furthermore, she stated, "In the 1st year, we developed tailored Nulbom School programs and teaching materials for 1st and 2nd graders in the areas of K-CULTURE, Vegetable Garden, and Robotics, reflecting Jeonbuk's educational environment and regional conditions, and obtained results by applying them as pilot programs in two elementary schools."

During the workshop sessions, examples of pilot applications for each program such as Hanbok, Traditional Playground, Vegetable Garden, and Robot (peer relationships, social-emotional) were shared, and diverse opinions and discussions for the next year's project implementation were held during the comprehensive discussion.

One Nulbom School instructor (Won Bo-yeon) who participated in the event said, "Since last year, Nulbom School instructor training has been consistently conducted, allowing us to participate in various training sessions beyond art courses," and added, "It was very helpful in developing competencies reflecting the latest educational trends and classroom environments. I hope the Nulbom School program developed through this project in Jeonbuk will be expanded and applied in the field."

Additionally, a special lecture on 'AI Era, Human Intelligence (HI) Teaching Method to Increase the Temperature of Relationships' by Director Yang Nae-yoon (High Society International), known for his humorous teaching methods, received a great response during the workshop.

President Park Byeong-chun stated, "I will spare no effort in providing university-level support for the development of the Jeonbuk-style Nulbom School program and instructor training system, which can be differentiated as a unique Nulbom School operating model compared to other regions through the 1st-year project," and added, "In the 2nd year, we hope to expand the program to all grades and expect stable operation in the field."

The 'Jeonbuk-style Nulbom School Instructor Training System Establishment and Operation Project' is being conducted under the auspices of the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province and organized by the Global 30 University Cooperation Team of the Education and Training Institute at Jeonju National University of Education, with the 2nd-year project scheduled for 2026.
