The 'Jeonbuk Regional Community', which aims for sustainable and creative development in the Jeonbuk region, is set to begin its full-fledged activities. The 'Jeonbuk Regional Community Preparatory Committee', which was launched last April with the Jeonbuk Education Research Institute, the Human Rights Solidarity for the Disabled, the Jeonbuk Media Press Cooperative, and groups supporting lifelong education and independence for people with developmental disabilities at its core, will transition into the 'Jeonbuk Regional Community Promotion Committee' through the Supreme Committee from February 14th. Through this, they plan to intensify preparations with the goal of the official launch of the 'Jeonbuk Regional Community' within 2025.

The Jeonbuk Regional Community aims to uncover local issues in various fields such as politics, economy, education, culture, and human rights, and to base its activities on cooperation and solidarity for the autonomous and responsible growth of the local community. In particular, they are preparing concrete action plans to create real changes in various fields, such as activating the local economy using Jeonbuk's unique resources, creating an equal and creative educational environment, and building an innovative cultural and artistic ecosystem, through grassroots political movements that allow citizens to directly participate in the policy-making process and reflect the voices of marginalized groups.

The Jeonbuk Regional Community Promotion Committee, centered around Chairman Kim Hak-san (former Namwon Education Support Office Principal, former Jeonbuk Education Training Institute Principal), will consist of experts in various fields and will divide roles among major committees for systematic operation. The committee includes Political Chairman Choi Kang-ik (representative of Gwanghae, former parliamentary assistant), Labor Chairman Kim Hong-min (former representative of Hyundai Motor Union Jeonju Factory), Education Chairman Park Jun (Chairman of Jeonbuk Middle School AI Information Subject Research Association), Culture Chairman Lee Byung-jae (representative of Regional Plus Education Research Institute, co-reporting director of Jeonbuk Disabled News), Disabled Chairman Choi Chang-hyun (representative of Human Rights Solidarity for the Disabled), Youth Chairman Hwang Ji-young (former Jeonbuk Office Director of the National School Irregular Workers Union), Economic Chairman Jung Gu-young (representative of Gana Advertising), Regional Chairman Lim Dong-hyun (representative of Jeonbuk Local Portal), and Office Director Lim Chang-hyun (Chairman of Jeonbuk Education Newspaper Operation Committee). The secretariat in charge of practical affairs includes Public Relations Director Shim Chun-il (representative of Sokuri Production), Editorial Director Kim Jung-hwa (auditor of Gunsan Theater Association), General Affairs Director Han Jae-suk (poet), Cooperation Director Choi Ju-yeol (External Cooperation Director of Jeonbuk Media Press Cooperative), and Organization Director Lee Mi-ra (representative of the group supporting lifelong education and independence for people with developmental disabilities).

The Jeonbuk Regional Community Promotion Committee plans to rediscover the value of Jeonbuk by gathering the strength of local residents, experts, and organizations, and to promote policies and projects for sustainable development. They are looking forward to the active participation and interest of the local community in their future activities, and plan to thoroughly carry out the preparation process for the official launch of the Jeonbuk Regional Community.

In particular, the Jeonbuk Regional Community plans to continue its efforts to realize proper grassroots democracy by strengthening monitoring and healthy checks on local autonomous body heads in cooperation with local council members. Accordingly, they have declared that they will not accept membership from those who aim to become heads of local autonomous bodies or candidates, such as governors, superintendents, mayors, and county governors.

The Jeonbuk Regional Community Promotion Committee stated, "We will establish ourselves as a reliable companion to build the future of Jeonbuk together with the local residents," and "We will communicate with an open attitude to gather various opinions and cooperate in the future process."
