The National Gugak Center (Director Kim Joong-hyun) has revamped its Nuri House VR content to enhance its online pre-viewing service. Visitors can now explore the main spaces and exhibition routes of the institution in advance before visiting the performance venue, making it easier to prepare for their visit.

Through this renovation, the institution has implemented the overall view and key spaces in VR, allowing anyone to tour the National Gugak Center without being constrained by time and location. In particular, around 80 key points (hotspots) have been designated to ensure smooth spatial movement and to allow visitors to check the route and viewing points in advance for a seamless flow of the tour.

The exhibition room content has been focused on an online experience of 'seeing, listening, and understanding'. In the exhibition rooms, about 40 traditional Korean musical instruments are displayed with photos, allowing visitors to listen to the sound of the instruments. These are complemented by explanations from the 'National Gugakwon Gugak Dictionary' to help visitors easily and accurately understand the characteristics and uses of the instruments.

The areas targeted for updates include Chunhyang Maru, Sugung Maru, Heungbu Maru, and the 'Korean Musical Instruments' exhibition hall, among other key spaces of the institution. By enhancing performance videos, exhibition information, audiovisual materials, etc., tailored to the characteristics of each space, the completeness has been improved so that visitors can have an immersive experience online.

The National Gugak Center plans to continuously enhance online-based cultural services in the future to bring Korean traditional music closer to all citizens.
