The Jeonju International Film Festival (Co-executive Chairmen Min Sung-wook and Jung Jun-ho) will once again host the '100 Films 100 Posters' event in conjunction with the city of Jeonju, a major tourist destination.
'100 Films 100 Posters' is a unique event that started in 2015 in Jeonju. It involves 100 graphic designers interpreting and designing posters for 100 films screened at the festival. These posters are then displayed in exhibition halls and streets in Jeonju, providing the public with an opportunity to experience the film festival from a new perspective. This event, which is a noteworthy collaboration between the film and graphic design industries, has garnered attention not only from the domestic and international film industry, but also from the visual design field.
Last year, the 10th '100 Films 100 Posters' expanded its duration and venue. This year, it will continue to offer diverse programs that expand the intersection of film and graphic design at various attractions in Jeonju. This year's '100 Films 100 Posters' is hosted by the city of Jeonju and co-organized by the Jeonju International Film Festival and the photography book publisher 'April Snow'.
The 11th '100 Films 100 Posters', which features 100 designers creating their own posters for 100 films, will be held from April 30 (Wed) to May 9 (Fri) at the Palbok Art Factory Ipomoea Hall and Cinema Street, and from May 1 (Thu) to May 31 (Sat) at the Culture Court Worktang.
Especially this year, for the first time, a themed event consisting of a 'Salon' and a 'Themed Exhibition' will be held to expand the intersection of film and graphic design. The Salon, themed 'Film Festival Design', will be held for two days on May 4 (Sun) and 5 (Sun) at the Culture Court Worktang. It will explore how design is experienced within and outside film festivals, how designers collaborate with festival staff, and what significance individual film festival designs have in visual culture.
The themed exhibitions include an archive exhibition highlighting domestic film festival designs and a '2026 Preview: Theater Nostalgia' where visitors can get a sneak peek of next year's salon theme, 'Theater Visual Culture'. These exhibitions will be held at the Culture Court Worktang and the Complete Edition Culture Center, not only during the 26th Jeonju International Film Festival but also afterwards, offering a new film festival experience to Jeonju citizens and tourists.
In addition, a special exhibition 'Posters and Posters' and a poster design workshop are also planned. The special exhibition 'Posters and Posters' reinterprets 1,000 posters accumulated over the past 10 years through '100 Films 100 Posters' from a new perspective. The special exhibition will be held from May 1 (Thu) to June 15 (Sun) at the Jeonju City Inhu Library. The poster design workshop, led by a designer with extensive experience in film posters or poster design, will be held on May 17 (Sat) and 18 (Sun) at the Culture Court Worktang.
Detailed event programs, schedules, and locations for '100 Films 100 Posters' will be announced through the official website of the Jeonju International Film Festival (https://www.jeonjufest.kr) in April.
'100 Films 100 Posters', which allows you to enjoy both film and graphic design, will be held at various attractions in Jeonju, a major tourist destination, from the 26th Jeonju International Film Festival period (April 30 (Wed) - May 9 (Fri)) until mid-June.
