The North Elderly University in Jeongeup held its entrance ceremony on the 27th, marking the beginning of the 20th educational program with 170 elderly individuals.

The ceremony took place in the auditorium on the first floor of the North Elderly Welfare Center, starting with a pre-performance by the Jeongeup City Farmers' Music Band, followed by the oath of the new students, welcoming remarks, and speeches. Mayor Lee Hak-soo conveyed his congratulations through a video message, stating, "I will actively support lifelong education and welfare policies to encourage the learning of the elderly."

President Yoo Doo-hee stated, "We will contribute to the improvement of elderly welfare through various cultural programs and special lectures."

This educational program will run from April to November every Thursday, consisting of general education, health courses, cultural performances, and field trips, tailored to each of the four classes.

Established in 2004, the North Elderly University has been graduating around 140 students annually and this year, they welcomed 170 new students by expanding their capacity. It has solidified its position as a leading local institution for lifelong education for the elderly.
