Literary works by Jeonju local writers are capturing the attention of readers nationwide.
Jeonju Cultural Foundation (CEO Choi Rak-gi) announced plans to distribute literary works by Jeonju local writers in audiobook and e-book formats nationwide starting from April 1.
This initiative aims to promote the creative works of local writers more widely and provide readers with new reading experiences. The works being released this time are unpublished works completed in December last year through the Foundation's audiobook production support program, in both audiobook and e-book formats.
The new works being introduced include ▲ poet Kim Young-kwan's poetry collection "Longing Behind the Hill" ▲ writer Kim Wan-soo's poetry collection "Come Play with the Blue Three-Dimensional Book" ▲ writer Jung Kwang-deok's poetry collection "If It Were an Iceberg, What Would Have Happened!" ▲ writer Jang Eun-young's children's book "Hooray for Nammoonjang" ▲ writer Kim Sun-jung's children's book "Grandfather's Spinning Top," totaling 5 works.
These works cover a variety of themes and genres, from fairy tales set against the backdrop of Jeonju's March 1st Movement to deep reflections on life in poetry. Each work has been produced in audiobook format to share the literary value and emotions they hold with a wider audience, allowing listeners to experience the works more vividly.
Readers can conveniently enjoy the audiobooks on major domestic audiobook platforms such as Kyobo Bookstore, Yes24, Aladin, Naver Audioclip, Google Play, and Audion Sound, regardless of their location nationwide.
In line with the expansion of digital distribution, the Jeonju Cultural Foundation plans to hold special events for a month to commemorate the release of the new works. Expectation and purchase review events can be participated in through the Foundation's official SNS and audiobook distribution platforms, with prizes to be provided through a draw for participants.
CEO Choi Rak-gi of Jeonju Cultural Foundation stated, "This will be a valuable opportunity for outstanding literary works from the region to reach more readers beyond Jeonju and across the nation," and requested, "We ask for a lot of interest and affection so that bestsellers can emerge among the audiobooks by Jeonju writers."
Meanwhile, the Jeonju Cultural Foundation has been promoting audiobook production support projects to enter and support the digital reading market of regional literary works, the first among cultural foundations nationwide.
Furthermore, a call for new writer discoveries is ongoing until April 9, with selected writers to receive support for audiobook and e-book production, creation support funds in the form of prize money, among other benefits.
