The Wanju County Child Ombudsman's Office is actively implementing the "2025 Child Rights Education Program" to create a local community where children's rights are respected without discrimination.
This education program covers nine areas including child rights, environment, gender, prevention of school violence, cultural diversity, and labor rights, tailored to the age and understanding of children.
In line with the "2025-2028 Basic Plan for Child-Friendly Cities," Wanju County has been training its own education instructors and developing educational programs in collaboration with local organizations and groups. Institutions interested in the education program can apply via email by the 18th. More details can be found on the Wanju County Children and Youth homepage (https://www.wanju.go.kr/wanjucfc).
Wanju County Mayor Yoo Hee-tae stated, "We are making efforts to create an environment where all children can enjoy their rights without discrimination," and added, "We will do our best to help children understand and protect their rights."
Meanwhile, the Wanju County Child Ombudsman's Office is the first child rights advocacy agency in the country, engaging in various activities to advocate for and protect children's rights in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
