The Jeonju Student Education and Culture Center of Jeonbuk Education Office (Director Kim Hyeong-dae) started full-scale operation of a safety experience center starting from Jeonil Elementary School in Jeonju on the 1st to enhance disaster and safety accident response capabilities.
The experiential education targets elementary school 3rd graders to middle school students, and applications for the second half of the year education in July can be submitted through the Jeonju Student Education and Culture Center's website (https://lib.jbe.go.kr/jec). Real-time telephone applications are also possible.
The education is based on the Ministry of Education's '7 Major Standards for School Safety Education' and consists of 5 courses including emergency treatment, earthquake evacuation, fire evacuation, escape from smoke, and fire suppression. The focus is on raising students' safety awareness and coping abilities through simulations of actual disaster situations.
Director Kim Hyeong-dae stated, "With the frequent occurrence of safety accidents, swift responses on-site have become crucial," and added, "I will strive to ensure that practical safety education is carried out through experiential-centered programs tailored to students' perspectives."
