The Muju Senior University, a branch of the Mujoo Senior Association (Chairman Lee Kwang-boo), held its 23rd entrance ceremony on the 3rd and began a 7-month educational program.
This year, a total of 130 students were admitted, and they will complete various programs such as general knowledge, traffic safety, etiquette, dementia prevention, physical exercises for daily life, and singing classes every Thursday until October. Local tours and experiential activities will also be conducted concurrently.
The entrance ceremony held at the Muju Comprehensive Welfare Center was attended by about 100 guests and students, including Hwang In-hong, the Mayor of Muju, Oh Kwang-seok, the Chairman of the Muju Council, and Yoon Jung-hoon, a provincial council member.
Chairman Lee Kwang-boo stated, "We will provide various learning opportunities for the elderly to enjoy a healthy and dignified old age."
Mayor Hwang In-hong expressed his respect for the elderly who have embarked on the path of challenge, saying, "I send my applause to the elderly who have embarked on the path of challenge," and expressed his hope that the Senior University will become a model of intergenerational communication and respected old age.
Since its establishment in 2002, the Muju Senior University has graduated a total of 4,038 students, consistently supporting the leisure activities and lifelong education of local seniors.
