Jeongeup City has designated the month of April as the 'Month of Disability Empathy' in conjunction with the 45th Disabled Persons Day on April 20th, and is actively promoting various campaigns to improve awareness and empathy towards people with disabilities in collaboration with its citizens.

Jeongeup City's Comprehensive Welfare Center for the Disabled plans to foster understanding and empathy towards disabilities through programs that anyone can easily participate in their daily lives.

The flagship program, 'Creating Banners Together,' is a participatory campaign where citizens write messages for improving awareness towards disabilities, which are then produced and displayed as banners. Currently, 50 organizations are participating, and groups of 5 or more individuals, such as clubs, classes, or workplaces, can apply.

Furthermore, online programs such as 'Creating an Accessible City through YouTube Comments' and 'U-Quiz - Understanding Disabilities Edition' are also available for easy participation by any citizen.

On the 26th, the event 'Walk Together on an Accessible Sharing Path' will be held, where citizens and people with disabilities will walk together and have an experiential time. The event will include disability experiences, magic performances, and various other activities.

An official from Jeongeup City's Comprehensive Welfare Center for the Disabled expressed hope that this campaign will serve as an opportunity to create a culture of understanding and respecting disabilities in everyday life, beyond mere promotion, and urged citizens to show interest and participate.
