Jeonju Cultural Foundation (CEO Choi Rak-gi) has been selected for the second consecutive year for the '2025 Korea Craft Week' organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Craft & Design Foundation.

In response, the foundation plans to focus its efforts on expanding the base of craft culture in the Jeonju region and increasing citizen participation in programs.

The 'Craft Week' is an annual national craft culture festival held nationwide under the theme of 'art created by hand, craft culture emerging in daily life.' Through various events such as craft exhibitions, experiences, markets, education, and forums, it aims to reevaluate the beauty and value of crafts. This year, it will take place for 10 days from May 16 to 25 in various locations across the country.

This year, Jeonju will showcase six core programs under the theme 'Jeonju Craft Village Journey: Excursion with a Touch of Jeonju's Colors.'

Key programs include a craft village workshop tour, a craft tour market, craft experiences with local artists, craft tour events, craft tour spots, and discovering craft artists. The programs are designed to allow participants to directly experience and appreciate crafts and to comprehensively view the local craft ecosystem.

In particular, the workshop exploration program linked to Jeonju Hanok Village, the craft goods market, and citizen participation experiential programs are expected to serve as opportunities to expand crafts from being mere objects of observation to being a culture that can be enjoyed and consumed in daily life.

Through this Craft Week, the Jeonju Cultural Foundation plans to strengthen collaboration with local craft artists and prepare various support measures and programs to garner attention for Jeonju's craft culture domestically and internationally.

Choi Rak-gi, CEO of Jeonju Cultural Foundation, stated, "Jeonju is a city where tradition and modernity coexist harmoniously, and a place where craft culture has deep roots in daily life." He added, "Through this Craft Week, we will widely promote Jeonju's unique craft sensitivity and create a space where both citizens and tourists can experience the charm of crafts in their daily lives."
