The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education held the first meeting of the Task Force (TF) dedicated to reducing private education expenses.
On the 9th, the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education held the first meeting of the 'TF for reducing private education expenses' at the Changjo Narae conference room, seeking response measures tailored to the local situation. This meeting was in response to the recent announcement by the Ministry of Education and Statistics Korea that both the per capita private education expenses and participation rate of students in the Jeonbuk region had increased in the 2024 private education expense survey.
The task force, led by Vice Superintendent Yoo Jung-gi, is composed of 30 internal and external experts in three areas: career and college support, strengthening school education, and proactive response to private education. The TF plans to analyze the causes of the increase in private education and establish tailored measures by school level and subject.
In particular, based on the Ministry of Education's private education response plan for 2025, the province will promote policies centered on public education, such as strengthening the Jeonbuk-style Nulbom schools, expanding the high school credit system, and launching new self-directed learning support centers.
