The 26th Jeonju International Film Festival, co-executive directors Min Sung-wook and Jung Joon-ho, has announced the artists and films for 'Jeonju Cinema Tour x Music,' one of the representative programs of the 'Jeonju Cinema Tour' project conducted in collaboration with the tourism hub city of Jeonju.
'Jeonju Cinema Tour x Music' is a program where artists select films to watch and enjoy live performances with talks. This year, the program has significantly expanded in scale compared to previous years, offering a diverse and rich stage presented by a total of 15 artist teams.
On May 2, the band 'creespy,' known for depicting the honest emotions of youth like a fairy tale, will perform, along with the screening of "All About Lily Chou-Chou" (2001). Singer-songwriter Stella Jang, loved for her lively lyrics and charming melodies, will present "The Host" (2006), while singer-songwriter Jung Joon-il, who receives much love for his emotional melodies and profound lyrics, will showcase "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance" (2002).
On the 3rd, musician Jeon Jin-hee, who loves rhythm and space, will present "Nobody Knows" (2004), and singer-songwriter Cheese, who pursues a variety of charms like different flavors of cheese, will showcase "Perfect Days" (2013). Indie musician Billy Acoustie, known for his unique emotional music, will screen "Oasis" (2002) and perform on stage.
On the 4th, singer-songwriter Park Joon-ha, who portrays everyday moments with distinctive vocals and guitar playing, will present "The Florida Project" (2017), while singer-songwriter Darin, who packages precious emotions felt in daily life as valuable.gif'>ts, will visit Jeonju with "After Yang" (2022). Singer Na Sang-hyun, who sings universal stories about all youth living in the world, will meet the audience with "Inside Llewyn Davis" (2013).
On the 5th, singer-songwriter Lee Hee-sang, who sings about the aesthetics of analog emotions and the traces of time, will present "Love Letter" (1995), while singer-songwriter Yoon Marachi, loved for her powerful yet delicate vocals and stable live performances, will showcase "Whiplash" (2014). The band Broccoli, You Too, who sings about youth and life, will unravel the stories contained in their works through music and storytelling with "Night and Day" (2008).
On the 6th, singer-songwriter Ahn Da-young, who challenges conventional aesthetics, will visit Jeonju with "Minari" (2020). The five-member K-pop ballad action spirit groove music team Kim Ok-ki-rup will perform "Don't Confess" (2024), while artist Baek Hyun-jin, who is active in various fields such as art, literature, film/drama, and performing arts, will present "Baek Hyun-jin Show: The End of Civilization" (2024) and share stories about movies.
Jeonju Cinema Tour x Music, where you can listen to the deep stories of artists through films, will take place at Jeonju Cinema Town for five days from May 2 (Friday) to May 6 (Tuesday) during the 26th Jeonju International Film Festival. The first screening will be at 11 a.m., the second at 3 p.m., and the third at 7:30 p.m. Performances are scheduled to take place for about 50 minutes after the screenings.
Tickets for Jeonju Cinema Tour x Music are priced at 40,000 won and can be reserved on the Melon Ticket website starting from April 18 (Friday). Additionally, limited edition goods of Jeonju Cinema Tour x Music will be given to tourists visiting the tourism hub city of Jeonju on a first-come, first-served basis, and through the event, local brands of Jeonju, such as "Dal and Kiwa" and "Hongsigung," will provide discounts on their products.
