The visual arts organization 'Imagination_Ahead' based in Jeonbuk has been actively operating for 26 years, and is hosting a regular exhibition titled "Painting Code_Promenade" at the Seohak-dong Photo Art Museum in Jeonju from the 15th to the 20th.
This exhibition, centered around the theme of 'Promenade', or a leisurely walk, captures aspects of life and the world as interpreted by 14 visual artists through their own perspectives. Participating artists include Kim Miso, Kim Hanbi, Moon Chaeyoung, Song Suyeon, Shin Seojin, Shim Jaeseo, Yoo Yangran, Yoo Jung, Lee Sooa, Lee Ilsun, Jang Soon, Jung Yujin, Cha Changwook, and Han Jun, creating a diverse composition that blends various generations and personalities.
'Promenade' holds a deeper meaning beyond simply walking a path. The artists, borrowing the gaze of the stroller, have transferred fragments of life, everyday landscapes, and inner explorations onto the canvas, going beyond physical spaces. Through images imbued with contemplation, the artworks encourage viewers to see everyday objects and the world in a new light.
'Imagination_Ahead', the organizer of the exhibition, has been safeguarding the local cultural and artistic ecosystem through consistent interactions and regular exhibitions among local visual artists since its establishment in 1999. Following the exhibitions "WE’LL BE FOREVER YOUNG" in 2018 and "Painting Code_新祿" in 2023, this year's exhibition continues the 'Painting Code' series, fostering artistic dialogues that transcend generations.
An official stated, "This exhibition aims to provide an experience of viewing that follows the personal walks of the artists, rather than just simple appreciation," adding, "We hope this will be a time where viewers can explore and understand the similarities and differences between generations through the themes, expressions, techniques, and more."
