The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education announced on the 17th that it will pilot a system of rotating teachers to support supplementary classes in special education classes for elementary, middle, and high schools for the first time this year to ensure the right to education for students with disabilities.

This program allows schools to apply for support from rotating teachers through the Special Education Support Center when regular teachers in special education classes are absent due to sick leave or other reasons.

In the past, there was no way to supplement the lack of classes in special education classes, making it difficult to provide tailored education for students with disabilities, and there were many constraints on the deployment of special education teachers.

This year, the Jeonju, Gunsan, and Iksan Education Support Offices will pilot the operation of seven rotating teachers, and a decision on whether to expand the program will be made after evaluation.

Kim Yoon-beom, head of the Elementary Special Education Department, said, "There are high expectations from the field and parents," and stated, "We will actively work to address the difficulties in special education settings in the future."
