On the 17th, North Jeolla Special Self-Governing Province held the 'First Meeting of the North Jeolla Metropolitan Child Protection Task Force for 2025' at the provincial office to discuss measures to strengthen the prevention of child abuse and post-management system.

The meeting was attended by 27 related organizations, including the province, the police agency, the education office, child protection specialized agencies, Jeonbuk University Hospital, and 14 cities and counties. It garnered attention as the first metropolitan local government and child rights protection agency in the country to jointly host such an event.

Participants discussed the current status of child abuse in the North Jeolla region, shared cases of inter-agency collaboration, and analyzed response systems to explore effective response measures.

North Jeolla Province is promoting early detection of child abuse and proactive support through the 'Hi, Child Support Project,' and is actively conducting awareness improvement activities such as response personnel job training and child rights experience exhibitions. With these efforts, the province received the 'Nation's Best' grade in the 2024 evaluation by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Kim Jung, head of the Women and Family Department in North Jeolla Province, stated, "To create an environment where children can grow up safely and healthily, we will continue to build a more closely knit North Jeolla-style child protection system."
