Gunsan City has announced that it has established a 'Disaster Safety Communication Network (PS-LTE)' that enables smooth emergency communication even in extreme disaster situations across all 27 towns and neighborhoods in the city.

Between 2021 and 2022, the city initially distributed 13 terminals in rural areas, as well as in Susong-dong, Soryong-dong, and Miseong-dong. This year, an additional 14 terminals were secured and deployed throughout all towns and neighborhoods.

The Disaster Safety Communication Network (PS-LTE) is a nationwide communication network that integrates wireless communication networks among disaster response agencies such as fire departments, police, military, and local governments. It allows for the sharing of high-resolution photos and videos, enabling rapid joint response among relevant agencies in the event of a disaster.

In addition to distributing terminals, the city conducted training for personnel, focusing on practical skills from operating the terminals to hands-on communication exercises to enhance on-site utilization capabilities. The city plans to continue regular training and equipment checks in the second half of the year.

An official from the city stated, "Swift information dissemination and the establishment of a cooperative system among agencies are crucial in disaster situations," adding, "We will do our best to protect the lives and properties of citizens by utilizing the Disaster Safety Communication Network."
