The Wanju Facilities Management Corporation (Director Lee Hee-soo) launched a 'Earth Day Campaign' on the 22nd in Bongdong-eup to raise awareness of the importance of environmental protection and encourage eco-friendly living practices in celebration of the 55th Earth Day.

Earth Day is a global environmental campaign that originated in the United States in 1970, commemorating April 22nd each year as a day for global environmental conservation, with various environmental events taking place worldwide. Earth Day aims to raise awareness of the seriousness of climate crisis and environmental pollution issues, advocating for creating a sustainable future through small everyday actions.

During this campaign, corporation employees encouraged citizens to participate in the nationwide lights-out event held for 10 minutes from 8 p.m. The event is considered a representative example of eco-friendly practices in daily life, as even a 10-minute lights-out period has a substantial impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Moreover, emphasizing the identity of 'Hydrogen City Wanju,' the campaign also highlighted the importance of using eco-friendly energy and proposed energy-saving practices in daily life and transitioning to sustainable living.
