Jeongeup City Central Library has been selected for the '2025 Disability Reading Culture Program Support Project' organized by the National Library for the Disabled, and will be operating a reading culture experience program for the hearing-impaired.

This project aims to expand information accessibility and reading participation opportunities for disabled individuals, particularly those who are culturally marginalized. In collaboration with the Jeongeup City Branch of the Jeollabuk-do Association for the Deaf, the Jeongeup City Central Library will be conducting a program called 'Stories of Dreams Written by Hands' from July to September, totaling 12 sessions.

The program consists of activities such as a library tour, 10 sessions of picture book appreciation and reading activities, and a cultural exploration session, all tailored to consider the characteristics of the hearing-impaired, from library usage to experiential activities through books.

A library official expressed hope that this program will help make the library a more familiar space for the hearing-impaired, stating, "We will continue to make efforts to enable various groups to communicate through books and culture."
