Jeonju Cultural Foundation is conducting a status survey to systematically foster Jeonju's traditional crafts industry and strengthen support for craft artists.

Jeonju Cultural Foundation (CEO Choi Rak-gi) announced that it will conduct a 'Local Craft Artist Discovery and Status Survey' targeting craft artists and industry workers in Jeonju starting from May for five months.

This survey aims to identify the creative conditions, activities, support needs of local craft artists, and to discover emerging artists to build a database. The survey results will be utilized as a basis for developing policies to foster the traditional crafts industry in Jeonju and support local craft artists.

The survey targets various entities including nationally designated traditional crafts and contemporary crafts fields, craft-related institutions, organizations, national cultural heritage, artists, businesses related to the development, creation, production, distribution, exhibition, and consumption of crafts or craft products, as well as individuals working in craft workshops in the local area.

The survey will collect information on the number of craft artists, fields, experience, workshop locations, and will also identify practical ways to support craft artists. To increase the response rate, telephone and email surveys, as well as mobile surveys, will be conducted simultaneously if necessary.

CEO Choi Rak-gi of Jeonju Cultural Foundation stated, "This survey will become big data that encompasses the scale, working conditions, and environment of our local craft artists," adding, "Based on the survey results, we plan to develop efficient support measures for craft artists and provide directions for the development and spread of local craft culture."

Meanwhile, Jeonju Cultural Foundation sells 554 types of craft products produced and distributed by craft artists and companies through the craft product exhibition hall, with 405 types, accounting for 73%, being filled with Jeonju and Jeollabuk-do products to provide significant support to local craft artists.
