The 26th Jeonju International Film Festival (Co-executive directors Min Sung-wook and Jung Joon-ho) raised its curtain grandly at 6:30 p.m. on the 30th at the Hanok Village in Jeonju, the heart of Korean traditional culture.

Under the challenging slogan "We always cross the line," this year's film festival will continue for ten days until the 9th, screening 224 films invited from 57 countries around the world in the Jeonju area.

Prior to the official opening, at the red carpet event, domestic and international filmmakers, as well as key invited guests, gathered to interact with the audience.

This year's programmer Lee Jung-hyun, Goodwill Ambassador Kim Bo-ra, special exhibition director Bae Chang-ho, along with actors such as Shin Suk-ok and Shiratori Keiko from "Horumon," Song Ji-hyo from "House of the Meeting," Ahn So-hee and Park So-jin from "Layover Hotel," Yoo Da-in and Moon Seung-ah from "The Girl Who Runs with the Carrier," Kim Si-ah from "Camera of the Summer," Hyun Woo-seok from "Samhe: The Adventure of 3 Joys," Lee Joo-young from "Clear," Kim Ho-jung from "Mom and Bear," Jin Seon-kyu from "Rectangular, Triangular," Ki Joo-bong from "Lovers of the Empty House," and Song Seon-mi from "Lovers of Life" greeted the audience.

The opening ceremony began with welcoming remarks from co-executive directors Min Sung-wook and Jung Joon-ho, followed by the opening declaration by Chairman Woo Bum-gi and an opening performance. Especially on this day, a special merit award was presented to the late screenwriter Song Kil-han, who hails from Jeonju and left a significant mark on the Korean film industry. The award was received on behalf of the bereaved family to honor the deceased who passed away in December last year, leaving a deep resonance.

The 26th Jeonju International Film Festival is showcasing its status as a leading international film festival representing Korea once again through experimental, independent, and boundary-crossing cinematic endeavors.
