The Supreme Court has scheduled the final ruling for Jeonbuk Superintendent of Education Seo Geo-seok, who was sentenced to forfeit his election in the appellate court, for 10:10 a.m. on May 15.

The verdict will be delivered at Courtroom No. 1 of the Supreme Court, and the case was assigned to the Second Petty Bench, with Justice Kwon Young-jun presiding. The sentencing date was set just one month after the case was allocated to the bench.

Superintendent Seo was indicted for violating the Public Official Election Act by allegedly making false statements during the 2022 local elections. He was sentenced to a fine of 5 million won in the appellate ruling—an amount that nullifies his election. If the Supreme Court upholds this ruling, Seo will lose his position as superintendent.reme Court upholds this ruling, Seo will lose his position as the education superintendent.
