The city of Namwon announced that the 95th Chunhyang Festival, held from April 30th to May 6th in Gwanghanruwon and downtown areas, concluded successfully with high participation from citizens and tourists.

Under the theme 'Chunhyang's Sound, Opening the World,' this year's festival, which combined tradition and modernity with diverse contents, received praise for reemphasizing Namwon's cultural identity and showcasing its potential as a global cultural city.

The opening and closing ceremonies featured a stage by the "Namwon Citizens Choir" with over 300 participants, providing a great emotional impact. The festival also attracted attention with differentiated programs such as the Daedong Street Parade with over 4,000 participants, the "Iljang Chunmong Concert," the Global Chunhyang Selection Competition, and a multinational parade.

Namwon city is tentatively estimating that the festival attracted the largest number of visitors ever during this period, and it is analyzing that it had a positive impact on the local economy.

Mayor Choi Kyung-sik stated, "The festival was a success thanks to the voluntary participation of the citizens," and expressed plans to systematically continue preparations for the 100th Chunhyang Festival. The city plans to enhance the completeness of the 96th Chunhyang Festival next year through an analysis and evaluation of the overall operation of this year's festival.
