Jeongeup City has officially launched the operation of 'Modu Baereumteo' starting this month to provide lifelong learning opportunities for residents in rural areas who have had difficulty accessing such programs.
'Modu Baereumteo' is a program that dispatches learning managers and instructors directly to provide residents with customized courses they desire near their homes, aiming to improve the quality of life for residents through ensuring access to nearby learning opportunities.
For this initiative, the city has selected a total of 15 participating institutions in three zones, including the Learning Zone (Gobu, Deokcheon, Jeongu, Sanggyo), Sharing Zone (Bugmyeon, Yeongwon, Soseong, Sanggyo), and Vitality Zone (Bugmyeon, Taein, Chilbo, Sanoe), mainly utilizing public spaces in rural areas such as community centers as learning venues.
The program, which will run until November, consists of a total of 24 sessions, offering residents the opportunity to participate in courses in various fields such as crafts, health, exercise, and musical instrument playing.
A city official expressed hopes for the program, stating, "Through 'Modu Baereumteo,' we hope to share learning opportunities and build vibrant learning communities. We will continue to make efforts to ensure that all citizens can enjoy lifelong learning opportunities wherever they desire."
