EBS will broadcast a 10-part lecture series titled "Paleontology, the Key to Earth's Secrets for 4.6 Billion Years" featuring the nation's top dinosaur expert, Professor Lee Yoong-nam from Seoul National University, from May 12 to 27. The program will air from Monday to Thursday at 5:30 a.m. on EBS1 and at 10 p.m. on EBS2, with the episodes available for viewing on the EBS Class e website afterwards.

Professor Lee Yoong-nam, who became the first Korean to earn a Ph.D. in vertebrate paleontology from Southern Methodist University in the United States, has been actively involved in dinosaur excavations and research in Korea, as well as in the United States, China, Japan, and Mongolia.

The lectures will cover a wide range of topics from the basic concepts of paleontology to the process of fossil formation, the record of biological evolution and mass extinctions, Korean fossil cases, and research trends incorporating the latest technologies. It emphasizes that paleontology is a discipline that allows us to view not only traces of ancient organisms but also the entire history of the Earth's ecosystem and life.

The series consists of a total of 10 episodes, including topics such as the definition and history of paleontology (1st episode), fossil formation and preservation (2nd episode), geological eras and index fossils (3rd episode), fossils as evidence of evolution (4th episode), mass extinctions and the repetition of life (5th episode), the relationship between the form and function of organisms (6th episode), the reconstruction of past ecological environments (7th episode), practical fossil exploration (8th episode), Korean fossils and geological changes (9th episode), and advanced paleontological research using cutting-edge technology (10th episode).

EBS stated, "Through this series, viewers will be able to understand the world of ancient organisms, including dinosaurs, and experience an exciting journey of exploring the history of life and the Earth scientifically."
