The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education announced on the 8th that it will conduct a capacity-building training session for human rights support teams and special education officials to enhance the protection of the rights of students with disabilities. The training will take place at the Jeonju Pyeonghwa Hall on the 9th.

This training session, attended by about 280 people including human rights support teams for students with disabilities in the province, special education officials, and teachers in special classes for elementary, middle, and high schools, will focus on the recent increase in cyber (sexual) crime response.

The lecture will be led by Lee Seung-gyu, the team leader of the Gyeongbuk Developmental Disability Support Center, who will deliver a special lecture on "Cases of Cyber (Sexual) Crimes and Response Strategies."

The human rights support teams for students with disabilities are established in 14 special education support centers of the provincial education offices, providing support for human rights issues at schools through prevention of rights violations, tailored counseling, family support, and community engagement.

Kim Yoon-beom, head of the Elementary Special Education Department at the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education, stated, "We will continue to expand human rights education to prevent violations of the rights of students with disabilities and create a safe educational environment."
