Gunsan City Selects 6 Winners of 'Youth Awards' in Celebration of Youth Month

In celebration of Youth Month in May, Gunsan City has selected six exemplary youths in the areas of volunteering, filial piety, culture and arts, sports, science and technology, and participation as recipients of the 'Gunsan City Youth Award.'
The 'Gunsan City Youth Award' was established in 2017 to encourage outstanding activities by local youths. This year, one individual was selected from each category after a review process among a total of 15 candidates.
The recipients are ▲ No Seung-joo (Gunsan Youngkwang Middle School) for volunteering ▲ Im Ji-hee (Gunsan Seoheung Middle School) for filial piety ▲ Choi Hyo-joo (Gunsan Gyeongpo Elementary School) for culture and arts ▲ Choi Jae-no (Korea National Sport University) for sports ▲ Kim Sang-hyun (Gunsan Nam Middle School) for science and technology ▲ Kang Seung-hyun (Gunsan Jeil Middle School) for participation.
The award ceremony will take place at the opening ceremony of the 2nd Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Youth Expo at Gunsan Saemangeum Convention Center (GSCO) on May 15.
Chae Eun-young, head of the Women, Family, and Youth Department, said, "It is proud to see youths who are role models in their respective fields," and expressed hope that the Youth Award will serve as motivation and hope for more youths.
Meanwhile, the Youth Expo will be held for two days from May 15 to 16, featuring various programs such as a global talk concert, experience booths, performances, special lectures, and stress relief zones.
