Outstanding Attacker Award Winner... "Feels like I have the whole world"

The Dream & Gaon Nuri Developmental Floorball Sports Team, affiliated with the Jeonbuk Special Psychological & Motor Development Center (Director Jeon Hong-geun), secured third place in the floorball event at the 19th National Disabled Students Sports Competition held in a part of Gyeongsangnam-do from the 13th to the 16th.

At this competition, the Dream & Gaon Nuri sports team achieved two consecutive victories against teams from Seoul and Busan in the final league matches, confidently recording two wins and finishing third overall. Despite being the team with the youngest average age, they garnered attention nationwide by showcasing strong gameplay.

There were also remarkable achievements in the individual category. Player Kim Dohwan stood out by winning the Outstanding Attacker Award at the competition, revealing his presence. Kim expressed his joy at winning the award, saying, "It feels like a dream. I feel like I have the whole world."

The youngest participant, 4th-grade elementary school students Kim Chanyu and Kwak Min-wook, also expressed their determination. The two players vowed, "We will train harder in the future to surprise many people as representatives of Jeonbuk next year."

Director Jeon Hong-geun emphasized, "Our players competed in various team sports such as soccer, basketball, and floorball at this competition," adding, "Despite the young age and skill differences among our players, the most important thing is to cultivate social adaptation skills and gain experiences in growing through team activities rather than focusing on wins and losses." He further stated, "We will continue to prioritize the process of growth over game results and make continuous efforts to enhance the players' skills and quality of life."

On another note, the Dream & Gaon Nuri sports team represented Korea at the 2025 Winter Special Olympics World Games held in Turin, Italy in March, where they ranked fifth, earning recognition for their skills even at international competitions.
