Chonbuk University's Central Library, under the leadership of President Yang O-bong, is hosting a cultural event titled 'Meeting with Authors' to promote communication with the local community and humanities. The event will take place on Tuesday, May 20th at 2 p.m. in the Central Library's 1st-floor Central Lounge, and is open to university members and local residents.
For this 'Meeting with Authors' event, well-known author Kim Young-ha, known for novels such as "Black Flower" and "Memoirs of a Murderer," has been invited to give a lecture on the theme of 'What Happens to Us When We Read Novels.' Kim is a novelist who balances literary quality and popularity, and has actively engaged with the public through programs like the TV show "Alssul Shinjob."
Pre-registration will begin on Wednesday, May 7th, with a total of 150 participants being accepted. In addition to pre-registration, 50 more participants will be accepted on the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Central Library of Chonbuk University stated, "This lecture will be an opportunity for university members and local residents interested in literature to share the charm of novels and rediscover the joy of reading books," adding, "We hope that this event will bring the university library closer to the local community and contribute to cultural development."
