On the 22nd, the Wanju County Education Support Center (Director Lim Sung-hee) conducted a career special lecture titled "The Unexpected Path of the Unconventional" for 94 students at Gosan Middle School (Principal Jang Sun-don).
This special lecture was planned to provide teenagers with an opportunity to explore their career paths and learn from life experiences by inviting six mentors active in various fields within the local community. The mentors tailored their presentations to the students' level, sharing their struggles and thoughts leading up to their current professions, as well as how they overcame difficulties.
In particular, Kim Kwang-jip (CEO of Tong Edu Entertainment) took the stage with the theme "There are no useless endeavors," emphasizing to the students that "allowing oneself to pursue what they want to do is the beginning of a career," encouraging them to take meaningful challenges.
An official from Gosan Middle School stated, "It was a time for children to learn about life through close adults rather than YouTube or reference books, and the mentors' stories provided a more vivid career lesson than textbooks."
The center is also preparing new career programs for teenagers by meeting various adults in Wanju County this year to uncover life stories and encourage a perspective that views careers not just as jobs but as directions in life, emphasizing the importance of looking at career paths from the perspective of life direction for everyone.
