April 29th Early Voting in Jeonbuk Heats Up... Group Leaders Also Participate

On the first day of early voting for the 21st presidential election in 2025, on April 29th, voters in the Jeonbuk region showed a high level of enthusiasm by visiting polling stations from early in the morning. As of 9 a.m. on that day, the early voting rate in Jeonbuk was 6.67%, significantly surpassing the national average of 3.55%.

In 242 early voting stations across Jeonju's Wanju-gu Jungwasan 2-dong, Deokjin-gu Palbok-dong, and other areas, voters lined up before going to work to cast their votes, with voices from citizens calling for an end to political fights and more attention to livelihood issues.

Various officials from different levels also participated in early voting at the special polling station set up at the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Office. Governor Kim Gwan-young expressed encouragement for the participation of residents, stating, "We have put our strength into the future of Jeonbuk." Meanwhile, Moon Seung-woo, the Chairman of the Jeonbuk Provincial Council, expressed hope for Jeonbuk to progress as a special self-governing province that is not marginalized.

Lee Won-taek, the head of the Jeonbuk Provincial Democratic Party, along with Kim Yong-tae, the emergency response chief of the People Power Party, and Cho Bae-sook, the head of the Jeonbuk Provincial Party, all cast their early votes at the provincial office polling station.

Early voting will continue for two days until April 30th, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and voters can participate in the voting anywhere in the country with just an ID card.

Furthermore, the main voting day will take place on June 3rd (Tuesday) from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at designated polling stations within the voter's registered address. Voters must also bring their ID cards on the voting day, and the Election Management Committee recommends avoiding peak hours as much as possible when participating in the voting.
