Jeonbuk Hyundai set a record by selling out their first ever match since the founding of the club, ahead of the 'Hyundai Derby' taking place at Jeonju Castle on the 31st at 7 p.m.
As of 12 p.m. on the 29th, Jeonbuk Hyundai announced a sellout as all 32,560 seats (including season tickets) available for the match were sold out.
Jeonbuk Hyundai stated that after the remodeling of the spectator seats at Jeonju Castle in 2022, the total number of seats reached around 32,000, excluding obstructed views and unsold seats for disabled fans.
Ticket sales for the match, which began on the 26th, saw all first-floor seats sold out early on the first day, indicating a huge success.
With over 27,000 general tickets sold, considering season ticket holders, an audience of around 32,000 is expected for the match.
Since the K League official audience count in 2012, the highest attendance for a K League home match for Jeonbuk Hyundai was recorded during the final match against FC Seoul on November 6, 2016, with 33,706 fans at Jeonju Castle. However, the stadium capacity at that time was over 42,000 seats, so it was not a complete sellout.
Thanks to the support of the fans, it is expected that the Jeonbuk Hyundai players will also perform well.
Following their 4-0 victory over Daegu on the 27th, Jeonbuk Hyundai is on the rise, leading the league in most goals scored and fewest goals conceded.
Since their defeat in the match against Pohang on March 16th, Jeonbuk Hyundai has been unbeaten for 12 K League matches (8 wins, 4 draws) and 14 official matches including the Korea Cup (10 wins, 4 draws), showing a strong winning streak.
To wish for victory on that day, Jeonbuk Hyundai's star player, Lee Jae-sung, who is currently active in the German Bundesliga with Mainz, will hold a fan signing event at Jeonju Castle.
During halftime, the popular emotional band 'Jannabi' will visit Jeonju Castle to perform a special show for the 30,000 fans to support the victory in the 'Hyundai Derby'.
As many fans are expected to gather for the match, 15 additional '1994 buses' will be provided, and the Jeonbuk Regional Environmental Office, Jeonbuk Green Environment Support Center, and Jeonbuk Green Business Association will each support 5 hydrogen electric buses for free transportation from Jeonju Station and Iksan Station to Jeonju World Cup Stadium.
Entering fans will receive 30,000 units of 'Real Amino Water' from player Lee Seung-woo, and 'Medipil' will sponsor 2,000 units each of their products, Sun Stick and Repair Cream, to be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to entering fans.
Meanwhile, Kim Jin-kyu, who showcased a dinosaur celebration after scoring in the match against Suwon FC in April, will be awarded the 'Ceremony of the Month' award before the game.
