Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC (hereinafter Jeonbuk Hyundai) has created a garden in Jeonju Hanok Village in collaboration with Jeonju City and the nonprofit organization 'The Forest' to provide a space for communication with citizens.
Jeonbuk Hyundai participated as a sponsor in the 'Beautiful Garden Creation Project' held in Jeonju Hanok Village, a representative tourist attraction in Jeonju, to repay the continuous support from Jeonju citizens. The garden creation project, which began with a donation ceremony at Jeonju World Cup Stadium on May 17, was completed on May 28.
The garden was created at five locations within Hanok Village, including the Choi Myeong-hee Literature Museum Street, Jeonju Dongheon, the courtyard of Jeonju Craft Exhibition Hall, the traditional garden (next to the craft exhibition hall), and Jang Hyeon-sik's old house. It has emerged as a healing space where Jeonbuk Hyundai fans, Jeonju citizens, and tourists can enjoy together.
Jeonbuk Hyundai explained that through this garden creation project, they have expanded their role beyond just being a football club to becoming a 'club in daily life' that collaborates with the local community. They also emphasized the significance of creating a space where fans can leave special memories even outside the stadium.
For this project, Jeonbuk Hyundai donated a total of 60 million won to Jeonju City. The funds were raised through the sale of commemorative items and uniforms on the online auction platform 'Collects' last year by the club. The proceeds will not only be used for garden creation but also for future garden cultural walking programs and maintenance.
