The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Iksan Office of Education Support (Education Superintendent Jung Seong-hwan) has been actively operating 'Parent Counseling for Communication of the Mind' targeting parents of crisis students experiencing psychological and emotional difficulties since June.
This counseling aims to assist in the emotional recovery of parents of crisis students, help them understand their children better, improve communication culture within the family, and support students' return to school and stable school life. Among the 83 students classified as crisis students last year, the main causes were conflicts within the family (39.7%), interpersonal relationship issues (20.4%), and psychological instability (14.4%), with the majority occurring at home (69.8%).
The Office of Education Support provides up to 6 individual counseling sessions per person through on-site counseling at the Wi Center and referrals to specialized institutions for parents of students in the region. They also plan to operate family-based psychological role-playing sessions in July and August for those who wish to participate.
Superintendent Jung Seong-hwan stated, "It is meaningful to help parents become true supporters of their children," and added, "We will continue to expand various programs that support emotional connections in the future."
