A special yoga festival wishing for the successful bid of the 2036 Jeonju Olympics is being held in celebration of the 'World Yoga Day'.
Organized by the Jeonju City Yoga Association (Chairman Choi Sung-soon), this large-scale yoga festival will take place on the 14th at the outdoor performance venue of WanSan Sports Park in Jeonju City, with about 500 participants including yoga enthusiasts, residents of Jeollabuk Special Self-Governing Province, and Jeonju City.
The Jeonju City Yoga Association, in collaboration with Jeollabuk Special Self-Governing Province, Jeonju City, and Jeonju City Sports Council, is hosting this event. Thirteen professional yoga instructors from across the country will conduct the Yoga Mala Project for three hours. Participants can include yoga enthusiasts and residents of Jeollabuk Province.
The event will kick off at 9 a.m. with a performance by the yoga demonstration team, followed by a commemoration ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Key figures such as Governor Kim Gwan-young of Jeollabuk Special Self-Governing Province, Chairman Moon Seung-woo of the Jeollabuk Provincial Council, Mayor Woo Beom-gi of Jeonju City, Chairman Nam Gwan-woo of the Jeonju City Council, and Park Ji-won, the head of the Jeonju City Sports Council, are expected to attend. Following this, participants will engage in Vinyasa yoga with the Inside Flow team until 12:30 p.m., when the Yoga Mala Project will take place.
Choi Sung-soon, the chairman of the Jeonju City Yoga Association, expressed, "Yoga is a beneficial exercise that contributes to the health and well-being of people worldwide. The Jeonju City Yoga Association organized this event to promote the bid for the 2036 Jeonju Olympics and to foster the health and yoga craze among the residents of Jeollabuk Province." He urged the participation of many residents.
This event is expected to raise awareness about the importance of yoga among the residents of Jeollabuk Province and contribute to the health promotion of the local community. It is also anticipated to serve as a gathering of the intentions of yoga enthusiasts in Jeollabuk Province for the bid to host the 2036 Summer Olympics in Jeonju.
Meanwhile, the Jeonju City Yoga Association plans to proceed with the event on the morning of the 14th even in the event of rain, as indicated in the weather forecast.
