The Sangju County Council (Chairman Son Jong-seok) opened the 294th 1st regular session on June 13 and began a schedule that will last for 18 days.

During this regular session, a Budget Settlement Special Committee (Chairman Shin Jeong-i) was formed to review the final settlement and approval of the reserve fund expenditure for the 2024 fiscal year, as well as to examine the proposed changes to the 2025 1st half Shared Property Management Plan. They also plan to listen to a report on the progress of major tasks for the first half of 2025.

Earlier, on the 12th, during the closing of the 293rd interim session, a standing committee was held to deliberate on six bills proposed by council members and 15 bills submitted by the Sangju County Mayor.

Chairman Son Jong-seok stated during the opening ceremony, "In honor of the Month of Patriotic Martyrdom, I express gratitude to the patriotic martyrs and national merit holders," and emphasized, "I urge for administration that protects the lives and safety of the people."

On the same day, Councilor Choi Yong-soo made a 5-minute free speech on the topic of 'Proposal for Sangju County Public Rental Housing Policy' during the plenary session, and the council adopted resolutions opposing the '345kV Southwest Substation and Branch Transmission Line Installation' and urging for the 'Enactment of Local Council Act'.
