At the '29th Jeonbuk Youth Theater Festival,' the work 'Anemone' by the theater group 'Sky Eyes' from Jeonju Seongsim Girls' High School received the grand prize.
At the theater festival held at the Ujin Cultural Center Theater in Deokjin-gu, Jeonju, from the 10th to the 15th, 'Anemone' from Jeonju Seongsim Girls' High School unfolded a tension-filled and cheerful story about popular idols and the characters surrounding them. With diverse and witty scene compositions, the play injected vitality into the drama, eliciting empathy and high responses from the audience.
The silver prize went to 'Letter Arrived Late' by the theater group 'Jest' from Jeonju Jeil High School, which started with the theme of elderly grandmothers learning to write letters to their younger selves, exuding an overall sense of stability. The message was lyrical and the story development, which anyone could relate to, became a symbol that transcended generations through the proclamation "Learning is truly wonderful."
The bronze prize was awarded to 'Little Star' by the theater group 'Sanmok' from Jeonju University Demonstration High School and 'Waiting for Spring' by the theater group 'Stand By' from Irinam Girls' High School. The honorable mention went to 'The Most Beautiful Farewell in the World' by the theater group 'Bloom' from Jeonju Geunyeong Girls' High School and 'That Day We Were On Stage' by the theater group from Jeonju Girls' High School.
The judges commented, "The dedication and efforts of young actors and staff on stage, the joy, anticipation, and the fruition of their hard work have accumulated to create touching performances. As a result, theater in Jeonbuk will stand stronger and more firmly in the future, blossoming beautifully."
