Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC (Chairman Lee Do-hyun) has strengthened their attacking power by acquiring foreign striker Patrick Twumasi (31). The club officially announced the signing of Twumasi, who is a Ghanaian national team player, on the 20th.
Twumasi, a 176cm winger-forward, started his professional career in 2012 at Latvia's "Spartaks Jurmala" and has since played in leagues across various European countries such as Kazakhstan, Russia, Spain, Germany, and Israel. Particularly, during his time at "FC Astana" from 2015 to 2018, he recorded 53 goals and 32 assists in 143 matches, showcasing his presence in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League stages.
Thanks to his performances, he was called up to the Ghana national team and further developed after transferring to Spain's La Liga side "Alaves" in 2018. Subsequently, he played for Bundesliga 2's "Hannover 96", Israel's "Maccabi Netanya", Cyprus' "Pafos FC", and in the last season, he was on loan at "Beitar Jerusalem".
Even in the 2024-25 season, he participated in 38 matches, scoring 7 goals and providing 2 assists, demonstrating his outstanding activity level and attacking instinct. Jeonbuk Hyundai stated, "We expect Twumasi, who possesses a variety of experiences from different leagues and strong breakthrough ability, to add speed and sharpness to the team's attack."
Twumasi expressed his thoughts on joining the team, saying, "I want to contribute to Jeonbuk Hyundai's success. I want to achieve the best results with the best players." He has already joined the team's training and is immediately available for matches as he has been playing until the end of the season, maintaining his match fitness.
Meanwhile, Twumasi's K League registration name has been confirmed as 'Twumasi', and he is set to wear the number 21 jersey.
