Jeonbuk Education Office to Hold the 1st Jeonbuk Education Development Awards Ceremony

The award ceremony for the '1st Jeonbuk Education Development Awards,' organized by the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education, was held on the 20th at the Jeonju Student Education and Culture Center. The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education stated that this award ceremony was established to discover and encourage educators and residents who have contributed to educational development, and to promote the qualitative improvement of education in Jeonbuk.
Attending the event were Jin Hyeong-seok, Chairman of the Jeonbuk Provincial Council Education Committee, as well as Vice-Chairman Jeon Yong-tae, Councilors Park Jeong-hee and Kang Dong-hwa, and the families of the awardees.
The awardees were selected in the following categories: △Innovation in Teaching - Senior Teachers Lee Hae-yeong and Jung Min-soo △Dedication to Education - Mr. Yang Jong-gap △Education Cooperation - Wanju County and Suncheon County.
Teacher Lee Hae-yeong was recognized for developing educational materials to improve literacy skills, while teacher Jung Min-soo received accolades for operating online teaching content and implementing concept-based inquiry lessons. Mr. Yang Jong-gap, who won in the Dedication to Education category, donated his lifelong savings of 2 billion won to scholarship programs. Wanju County and Suncheon County were awarded for their contributions to fostering specialized high schools and attracting rural exchange programs through local government-education office cooperation.
Chairman Jin Hyeong-seok of the Jeonbuk Provincial Council Education Committee stated, "The Jeonbuk Education Development Awards ceremony is a very meaningful event, and the awardees are individuals who have dedicated themselves to Jeonbuk education in their respective positions." He added, "Thanks to your efforts, Jeonbuk education was able to turn crisis into opportunity."
