On the 17th and 19th, Wanju County conducted elderly human rights education for 250 staff members working in long-term care facilities within the jurisdiction. Along with the education on the 17th, a meeting of the Elderly Human Rights Advocacy Committee was held to enhance the significance of the education.
This education was organized to strengthen the role of on-site staff members as the protection of the rights and respect for the elderly become increasingly important due to the aging population. The training, which focused on actual cases, received positive evaluations for its practical help in preventing elderly abuse and enhancing human rights sensitivity.
Yoo Hee-tae, the Wanju County Mayor, stated, "The warm care provided by staff members in long-term care facilities is a great support in the lives of the elderly," and expressed hope that through this education, there would be tangible changes in the protection of the elderly's human rights.
Wanju County has recently surpassed a population of 100,000, continuing its growth trend, and is making continuous efforts to improve elderly welfare in line with this growth.
