The Child Studies Department at Jeonbuk University (headed by Kim Tae-yeon) has launched various support programs to enhance the capabilities of childcare teachers in preparation for the integration of kindergartens and daycares.

The most significant change is the introduction of weekday training, the first of its kind in Jeollabuk-do. In order to address the issue of accumulated fatigue from weekend-centered education, training will be conducted for five weekdays from June 23 to 27. To support this, Jeonbuk University has established a system to prioritize substitute teachers in collaboration with childcare comprehensive support centers in the province.

Furthermore, to alleviate the burden on directors who were not eligible for education fee refunds, a direct support of 20,000 won per person will be provided to participants of the pre-service training. Additional regional education for teachers in the southern regions such as Namwon, Imsil, Suncheon, and Jangsu will continue from last year.

The training program is structured with high-quality practical content, with professors from the Child Studies Department at Jeonbuk University and external experts participating. This was made possible through the support of the Glocal University 30 project at Jeonbuk University, which enabled the recruitment of instructors and financial support for students.

Kim Tae-yeon, the head of the program, stated, "Enhancing the professionalism of childcare workers leads to improvements in the local childcare environment," and expressed his commitment to contributing to the enhancement of childcare quality in Jeonbuk through practice-oriented education.

The training program will run a total of eight sessions from March to November this year, and detailed information can be found on the Jeonbuk University Child Studies Department website (https://child.jbnu.ac.kr).
