Muju County Successfully Hosts National Youth Soccer and Taekwondo Championships... Attracting Over 3,500 Participants

The '2025 Muju Firefly Cup National Youth Soccer Tournament' and the '12th Prime Minister's Life Sports National City and Provincial Judo Tournament' were successfully held in Muju County from the 21st to the 22nd.

The youth soccer tournament, organized by the Muju County Sports Council and hosted by the Korea Football Club Federation, took place at various locations including Deungnamu Sports Field, Muju Middle School, and Jeoksangmyeon Sports Park, with the participation of approximately 1,800 people including 820 players from 48 teams nationwide, tournament officials, and family members.

During the same period, the 12th Prime Minister's Judo Tournament, hosted by the Korea Judo Association and organized by the Jeonbuk Judo Association and Muju County Judo Association, was held at the Muju National Sports Center, attracting over 700 players from across the country to compete in team and individual matches. Approximately 1,700 visitors were recorded to have visited Muju for this event.

Muju County Mayor Hwang In-hong stated, "National sports events are revitalizing the local economy," and expressed, "We will continue to enhance the infrastructure to establish Muju as a sports-centric city."

This year, Muju County has attracted a total of 30 sports events and training camps, including the youth soccer and judo tournaments, and plans to host additional diverse events such as cycling, foot volleyball, table tennis, and badminton until the end of the year.
