The organizing committee of the Jeonju World Sound Festival (Chairman of the organizing committee, Lee Wong-jun) is recruiting food truck operators to participate in the '2025 Jeonju World Sound Festival' to be held in August. Applications will be accepted until 6 p.m. on July 8.
This year's sound festival aims to further advance as a sustainable eco-friendly festival by expanding community participation, particularly focusing on local organizations in Jeollabuk-do, and leading the way in environmental protection practices such as using reusable containers instead of disposable ones. In line with this spirit of the festival, they are publicly recruiting food truck operators who empathize with the purpose of the festival and can participate.
The recruitment targets cooperative associations or consortia (joint operating entities) registered as businesses within Jeollabuk-do, with at least 50% of the participating companies in the consortium being local companies. Additionally, they must meet hygiene requirements such as having health certificates necessary for cooking.
One team of operators will be selected, consisting of a minimum of 6 to a maximum of around 8 food trucks. The selected operators will be responsible for operating within a designated area inside the Korean Sound Culture Hall from August 13 to 17, every day from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. for five days.
The festival organizers will provide electrical facilities, reusable tableware, operating space, promotional materials, and the operators must participate in the education on the use of reusable containers held on the festival day.
Interested organizations can download the application form from the official Sound Festival website (www.sorifestival.com), fill it out, and submit it via email (prideco2019@naver.com) by 6 p.m. on July 8. The evaluation will be based on criteria such as the suitability of the menu composition, cost adequacy, eco-friendly operational feasibility, relevant experience, and expertise. The final selection results will be announced on the website and through individual notifications on July 17.
A festival official stated, "This year's sound festival is being prepared in a direction that considers both the local community and the environment," and expressed hope that through the participation of many local organizations, they can deliver both taste and meaning to the audience.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Jeonju World Sound Festival is set to transform into a summer festival and will take place grandly from August 13 to 17 at the Korean Sound Culture Hall and various locations in Jeollabuk-do.
