The Jeonju Cultural Heritage Foundation (Representative Director Choi Rak-gi) is recruiting participants for the traditional hanji art education program "Mystical New Media Hanji" to promote the artistic value of traditional hanji and its modern utilization potential.
The education program will be held on July 4th at the Jeonju Millennium Hanji Center, offering a special opportunity to experience the harmony between tradition and modernity through a new attempt to integrate hanji, a traditional material, with media art.
Participants will have the opportunity to directly engage in creating media art content that goes beyond the flat surface, utilizing the texture and material characteristics of hanji. It is expected that through this, participants will not only enjoy the creative process but also gain a deeper understanding of traditional culture.
The Jeonju Cultural Heritage Foundation stated, "This education program is open to not only the general public interested in hanji but also professionals in the fields of art, education, and crafts," and announced that applications can be submitted through the Jeonju Millennium Hanji Center's website (jmhm.kr) until the 28th of this month.
Representative Director Choi Rak-gi emphasized, "Our traditional hanji is a precious cultural asset that holds infinite possibilities and beauty depending on its usage," and expressed his hope for a lot of interest and participation in the field where tradition and modernity communicate through hanji.
