Former Jeonbuk Superintendent of Education, Seo Geoseok, had his election nullified by the Supreme Court due to violations of the Public Official Election Act, resulting in the loss of his position. In response, major educational organizations in the region have expressed their views. The "Forum for True Education Opening New Paths," Jeonbuk Teachers' Union, and the Jeonbuk branch of the Korean Teachers and Education Workers' Union each provided different perspectives on the significance of the ruling and presented future tasks and directions for education in Jeonbuk.

The "Forum for True Education Opening New Paths" stated in a declaration that the election of Seo as superintendent based on false information was a deception of the citizens. They called for an official apology, full return of election campaign funds, audits and investigations of the education office, restoration of oversight functions by the media and parliament, and the normalization of education in Jeonbuk through participation of the educational community.

The Jeonbuk Federation of Special Autonomous Province Teachers' Unions (Jeonbuk Teachers' Union) emphasized that the stability of classrooms and students' learning should take precedence over political outcomes. They stressed the need for policy continuity and administrative stability under the deputy superintendent system. They also highlighted the importance of ensuring basic academic skills, protecting teachers' rights, and continuing positive evaluations of future education policies.

Meanwhile, the Jeonbuk branch of the Korean Teachers and Education Workers' Union welcomed the ruling, stating that the era of incompetence and arbitrariness has ended. They called for the restoration of education in Jeonbuk, criticized Seo's perjury allegations and undemocratic administration, and demanded an official apology and policy reversal.

As a result of this ruling, the Jeonbuk Office of Education will transition to a deputy superintendent's acting system, and the next superintendent election is scheduled to take place in June 2026.
