Woosuk University to Host Nationwide Taekwondo Competition on December 3rd with 2,189 Participants

Ulsan University (President Park No-jun) will host the 23rd Chancellor's National Taekwondo Competition at the gymnasium on the Jeonju campus from July 3 to 11.
Co-hosted by the Korea Taekwondo Association, the competition will be divided into three categories: breaking, forms, and sparring, and will run for 9 days. A total of 2,189 players from across the country will compete to showcase their skills.
In the breaking category, 170 middle and high school students will participate on July 3-4, while 1,417 participants will compete in the forms category held on July 5-8. The final sparring category will take place from July 9 to 11, where 602 high school students will compete in a tournament format across 10 weight classes.
Jeong Hee-seok, the chairman of the organizing committee (Director of Industry-Academia Cooperation), expressed his hope that the competition will serve as a platform for national unity among taekwondo practitioners, thanks to the results of over 20 years of taekwondo education.
The opening ceremony will be held on July 4 at 11 a.m., and the Ulsan University Taekwondo Demonstration Team is scheduled to perform a special performance wishing for the successful bid of Jeonbuk for the Summer Olympics in 2036.
