Wanju Cultural Foundation (Chairman Yoo Hee-tae) is actively promoting its first public purchase project targeting artworks by Wanju local artists in 2025.
This project is the first art purchase project in Wanju County, aiming to create a sustainable creative environment for local artists and establish an art support system centered on public collection. The foundation formed an advisory committee of seven domestic experts on June 19 to discuss the direction of the project. Following the call for artworks and submissions in July, the evaluation and purchase deliberation will take place in August, with actual purchases and collections scheduled for September and October.
Jung Cheol-woo, Executive Director of Wanju Cultural Foundation, stated, "It is significant that public support directly aids the works of local artists," adding, "We will systematically collect works that embody Wanju's unique colors and stories to establish a foundation for artists' creative activities."
