The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education announced on the 16th that six departments (8 classes) from three vocational high schools in the province have been finally selected for the '2025 Ministry of Education Vocational High School Restructuring Project.'
The selected schools are Namwon Yongseong High School, Jeongeup Jeil High School, and Julpoh Automobile High School, all of which were newly designated as 'Jeonbuk Global Local Specialized High Schools' by the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education earlier this year.
Namwon Yongseong High School will reorganize its existing departments into 'Smart Farming' and 'Café Flower' to strengthen the field of smart agriculture, while Jeongeup Jeil High School will transition its industrial machinery-related departments into 'Semiconductor Equipment' and 'Semiconductor Manufacturing.' Julpoh Automobile High School will establish 'Auto Tech Maintenance' and 'Auto Color Coating' departments to enhance specialized education in automobile repair.
The Ministry of Education will provide a total of 30 billion won, 3.75 billion won per class, to support these departments, and each school plans to utilize this funding for curriculum restructuring, improvement of practical training facilities, and teacher training.
Moon Hyeong-sim, the head of the Creative Talent Education Department at the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education, stated, "Through the restructuring project selection, the competitiveness of vocational high schools in the province will be further enhanced," and expressed the commitment to "establish an educational foundation that actively responds to changes in industrial structure."
In Jeonbuk, a total of 25 schools, 33 departments, and 47 classes have been selected for the restructuring project since 2018, receiving approximately 12.6 billion won in national funding.
