The Jeonju World Sound Festival has selected four teams, 'Our Music Group Soak', 'SINAVI', 'Gongsang', and 'Joseon-A', for the 2025 Sound Frontier.

'Our Music Group Soak' is a team that aims to create popular music that is in line with the sensibilities of the modern era while preserving the essence of tradition under the philosophy of "seeing people through music."

'SINAVI' is a crossover band that combines traditional Korean instruments with rock, ambient, and contemporary sounds. 'Gongsang' is a team led by creator Kang Tae-hoon that breaks down the boundaries of genres and instrumentations, continuing musical experiments based on creative imagination.

'Joseon-A' explores new horizons of sound where traditional instruments and ecological sensibilities meet, led by a gayageum player and creator.

The four teams will participate in a training workshop from the 19th to the 21st within North Jeolla Province, and will perform on the showcase stage on August 13th and 14th during the festival period. They will receive special benefits such as mentoring from domestic and international experts, networking opportunities, and support for domestic and international expansion. One team selected through expert and audience evaluations will proceed to hold an overseas showcase in the latter half of this year.

Kim Hee-sun, the executive director of the Sound Festival, stated, "The Sound Festival's aims to be a platform that connects creators and the market beyond discovering emerging Korean traditional music creators," and expressed hope that "all selected teams will enter the market of domestic and international traditional music through the of the Sound Festival, and become an opportunity to face a broader world."

The 2025 Jeonju World Sound Festival will be held from August 13th to 17th for five days at the Korean Sound Culture Hall and various locations in North Jeolla Province.
