Wanju County Education Integrated Support Center (Director Lim Sung-hee) officially began its operations with the start of the "2025 Becoming a Mediator" basic education mediator training program at the Family Culture Education Center on the 15th. This education program will run until July 29th, with sessions held every Tuesday and Thursday for a total of 5 sessions, targeting residents of Wanju County, parents, local activity instructors, and community members interested in education.
The training program was planned with the goal of fostering professional mediators for activating village education communities and creating a local educational ecosystem. It is structured as a project-based education course centered on communication tools. Participants will experience planning and executing educational content through group activities, enhancing their abilities as mediators connecting schools and communities.
The education program consists of an orientation and communication tool practice, theme conceptualization and group project planning, content creation and execution, sharing of senior mediator cases, and final reflection and graduation ceremony. Particularly, senior mediators who have participated in previous education programs and are actively engaged in school activities will directly participate to vividly convey their real experiences from the education field.
One resident in their 40s who participated in the education program as a parent said, "The vague concept of a mediator became concrete through activities, and I could confirm the possibility of playing an educational role within the community," and expressed, "The most impressive aspect was learning and growing together, not alone."
Instructor A, who participated in the education program, said, "At first, participants were awkward, but as they shared stories and realized ideas, they gradually gained confidence," and added, "I hope this education will be a meaningful start for local residents to take the lead in creating education."
